Jim and Jerry Berck have been members of Tri City Street Rods since 1982.  They have been married  for over 50 years. Street rods, drag racing and dirt track racing have always been a hobby for Jim.  He enjoyed working on and sponsoring the #62 stock car in the late 60's and 70's. Jim rebuilt his first 1940 ford in 1957 while working for Jim Gessford.  In the late 50's and early 60's he built several roadsters.  The 60's lead Jim to flying and took him away from building cars for a few years.  He built dune buggies in the 70's and returned to building street rods in the 80's. Since 1982 Jim's cars have included: 40 ford coupe, 36 ford 2 door humpback chopped, 47 ford coupe, 49 cadillac fleetwood, 62 volkswagon pickup, a 50 mercury coupe and his daughters 68 firebird. Jim owned and operated Berck's Conoco and Berck's Muffler shop before retiring in 2008. Jim and Jerry live in Hastings and have 3 children, 5 grand children and 1 great grandson.
