Duane & Linda Viglicky

Been a member of Tri City Street Rods since 1974 when I started to build my first street rod, a 1934 Chevrolet 5-window coupe that was finished in ‘77. After finishing my car attended several rod runs and national events over the next several years. Fast forwarding to today still attending NSRA, GoodGuys and local car events, but without the coupe. It is currently under going a metamorphous and soon to immerge with a mustang II front suspension, new engine, rearend, interior and paint. After 30 plus years of owning the coupe, it still presents the same or more challenges. Looking forward to having it back on the street this year.

Linda’s car interest started with racing quarter midgets in grade school and advancing to drag racing in Oregon with a Pontiac T37 running in the 12s. Her favorite cars have been a 70 Firebird and a Pontiac Fiero GT though she is looking for an early GMC or Chevy pickup to drive.

Duane’s car interests began in high school reading Rod & Custom and spending time at the body shop where his Dad worked. He enjoyed spending weekends at drag races at Thunder Valley Raceway, Marion, SD. while living in Yankton, SD. After 2 years in the Army returned home and started looking for a project car. Found the 34 in Red Cloud and started the body off restoration. The drag racing is still in the picture, but it is now family time at an annual weekend in Topeka Heartland Park at the NHRA nationals.
